THORNHILL AIR STATION 1955
November 1955 when Squadron Leader Doug Whyte took possession of RRAF Thornhill from the outgoing RAF.
His staff was preparing for the arrival of 9 SSU who commenced training in January 1956.

There do not appear to be many, if any, references to Thornhill ATC in print.
We were always referred to "as those weird
buggers who disappear early in the morning, and reappear when everyone else has gone home"
